We rushed to Hangzhou after work on Friday and returned Sunday evening, without detours, no mistakes, and no early mornings. My friend and I packed the best of Hangzhou’s stunning lakes, mountains, temple vibes, and crab roe noodles all in one trip. Here’s the lowdown—just copy it and you’re good to go.

Day 1 Arrival at Noon

• 12:30 Arrived at Hangzhou East Station via high-speed train, and the subway Line 1 leads straight to West Lake. Stored our luggage in a locker at the subway station (big locker costs 20 yuan/day).
• 13:00 First bite of crab roe noodles: Su Xiaoxie (Lakefront Yintai Store), enjoyed the crab roe + crispy yellow oil combo, added a portion of handmade noodles, and we finished it all.
• 14:00 Walked 5 minutes to Quyuanfenghe; there’s a blooming lot of lotus this July. The best spot is across from Liujin Bridge, we waited 10 minutes for the perfect shot of the lotus wall.
• 15:30 We hopped on a shared bike at Su Causeway, riding from north to south—it's all downhill, lakes on the left and mountains on the right. The whole ride took 15 minutes, saving half the energy.
• 16:30 At Huagang Guanyu, the stone bridge 100m ahead is the best spot for photos of “fish + tower”—just use your phone’s 0.5× ultra-wide angle.
• 17:30 Leifeng Pagoda tickets are 40 yuan; took the elevator to see the panoramic view of West Lake—the sun was setting, and the lake looked like spilled orange soda.
• 19:00 Dinner: Longxiang Stinky Tofu’s flagship store, crispy stinky tofu + pickles + spicy sauce, then we got a cup of West Lake osmanthus iced special, 10 yuan for a big cup.
• 20:30 Took the subway back to our hotel, we stayed at Orange Crystal, 200m from Fengqi Road subway, a premium twin room cost us 480 yuan for the weekend, the 24h convenience store downstairs makes it super convenient for supplies.

Day 2 Temples + Wetlands

• 7:30 Enjoyed a hotel breakfast buffet, had freshly made Pian’er Chuan + fried dumplings, then took a taxi to Lingyin Temple, Didi for 35 yuan, 30 minutes, avoiding the early morning rush.
• 8:30 Bought tickets for Lingyin Temple: Feilai Peak for 45 yuan and the temple for 30 yuan, don’t forget to check in twice. Next to Jikong Hall is a “Zen” wall; stick your phone to the wall for a cool shot with the word and yourself.
• 10:00 Hiked down on the Beigaofeng cable car, one way for 20 yuan, a great view of the whole West Lake, even better than Leifeng Pagoda.
• 11:00 At Fahxi Temple, the 10 yuan vegetarian meal is tear-jerkingly good, mushrooms + tofu + unlimited rice—don’t forget to take your plate to the recycling area after eating.
• 12:30 Took a taxi to the entrance of Xixi Wetland’s Zhoujia Village, ticket 80 + boat ticket 60, cruised through the reeds, the air-conditioned boat keeps you cool, and we saw egrets take off.
• 15:00 Changhe Zhijie, a free ancient street, super non-commercialized, grandma's Ding Sheng Cake for 2 yuan each, best eaten warm with osmanthus flavor.
• 16:00 Subway Line 1 back to East Station, taking the high-speed train at 17:00 back home, just in time for dinner.
